The Heart of Caring and Sharing
Every two months or so Betsy “Bets” Coriell receives a visit from her granddaughter Jan Cramer and her three children Emma (9), Anne (3), and Wade (7) who live in Shrewsbury PA. During a recent visit the children brought along some gifts they had made for other residents at Glen Meadows. The gifts were handmade with beads formed in various shapes and designs, including a cross and animals.
Bets suggested that they share their gifts with those in assisted living. Bet’s described the atmosphere as festive as music was playing and the children were racing from room to room to see who could hand out their gift first. After a few stops, Anne, the three year old, decided she was going to take a break from delivering gifts and entertain residents with a dance. She started swaying to the music and Bet’s joined in. In their own special way Bets and her great grandchildren made a big difference in the lives of a few residents that day.
